Care Instructions for Your Hand-Crocheted Hat

Washing Instructions:
Spot Clean First: If the hat has small stains, gently spot clean the yarn with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not scrub, as this will make the yarn in that spot fluffy. Avoid getting the fur pom pom wet.
Hand Wash if Necessary:
Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
Submerge only the yarn portion of the hat, keeping the fur pom pom dry. Gently swish the hat around—don’t scrub or wring it.
Rinse the hat thoroughly with lukewarm water, being careful not to soak the pom pom.
Drying Instructions:
Shape and Lay Flat: Gently reshape the hat and lay it flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel to remove excess water.
Air Dry: Lay the hat flat in its natural shape until completely dry. Avoid hanging the hat, as this can stretch the yarn and make it misshapen.
Fur Pom Pom Care
Use a soft-bristle brush or a dog brush to fluff the fur if needed.
Keep the pom pom dry. If it gets damp, gently shake out the moisture and let it air dry.
Wetness will not ruin the pom pom, but it can make the leather stiff which could make it a weird shape.
